The United Way of Montgomery, Radford and Floyd (UWMRF) is a group of volunteers, professionals, contributors, and clients working together to make the community a better place. On April 16, as tragedy struck the nearby Virginia Tech campus, these individuals went into overdrive. Immediately, offers of support and requests for assistance began pouring in to their office. Suddenly, the staff at UWMRF realized their current email system was not adequately equipped to handle the volume of emails they were receiving in the wake of this situation.
Based on a recommendation from a United Way board member, UWMRF contacted Mailtrust to solve their email situation. Working with Mailtrust via the web interface and directly with the technical support team, the United Way was able to quickly convert their original email system to the Mailtrust system. They were up and running quickly with over 40GB of storage necessary to handle the volume of emails that continued to pour in. More importantly, they were back in operation and able to respond to all requests and offers.
Stephanie Graham, the director of Community Resources stated, “As a result of the rapid implementation of the Mailtrust email services, we were up and running and quickly able to respond to those in need. Equally important, we were able to communicate with those offering assistance, and help the community to begin the healing process. Without the top notch level of technical support offered by the Mailtrust customer care team, we would not have been operational.”
