I first heard of Mailtrust while sorting through emails from my advisers. College was taking a little longer than expected, and I was looking for a part-time job that gave me more than just money in my pocket. Being a computer science major, I wanted a job that would give me valuable work experience, and Mailtrust seemed to be the perfect fit. I sent in my resume, had a couple interviews, and thankfully, was hired as a part-time developer in February 2005.

When I first started at Mailtrust, I had no idea what to expect. My only work experience was working for a large corporation on a co-op. Going from hundreds of developers and multitudes of management, to a handful of people was a big change, but one I quickly grew to enjoy and value. The difference between Mailtrust and most other companies becomes abruptly apparent if you spend any time at all in the office. Everyone in the company is extremely driven and passionate about what they do. Here I am able to use all my skills to help improve a quickly growing and changing company. Being that Mailtrust is such a small company, I know that everything I do is valuable. In other words, I am not just a number. I feel as though I am an integral part to the company.

Another great thing about Mailtrust, which it has in common with many other web-based companies, is that nothing will remain the same for very long. The web is changing quickly everyday; new technologies are emerging, and new companies are springing up. This brings new challenges each and every day, keeping work exciting and different. Learning about these technologies and using them to help better the company is a great experience, something that helps keep work exciting and interesting.

I am convinced that I could not have found a better parrt-time job while in college. From the first day, I have enjoyed coming to work, knowing that I am as fast-paced as Mailtrust. The people, the atmosphere, and the technology all combine to create a great work experience, something I value so much that I will continue working here after I graduate, as a full-time employee. Everything that is being done at Mailtrust is exciting and innovative, something that makes work much more than just a normal job.
