Email Hosting Provider Expands Facilities in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center

Blacksburg, Virginia (August 16, 2004) - Excedent Technologies, the leading provider of managed email hosting with integrated security threat prevention, today announced that the company has officially relocated its worldwide headquarters from Northern Virginia to the campus of Virginia Tech, within the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (CRC). Excedent was founded in Blacksburg in 1999 and its return was prompted by the company's soaring growth as well as senior management ties to the university and surrounding region. Management will immediately begin hiring in Blacksburg, continuing expansion of its workforce.

Excedent provides business-grade email hosting services with integrated anti-Spam, anti-virus and Webmail access to more than 2,500 businesses worldwide. The company specifically focuses on the advancement of its industry leading hosted email platform and plans to launch Version 3 of its Webmail interface in the coming weeks.
