Rackspace Founder, CEO of CCS-Inc. and Former Apple Sales Executive Become Outside Directors
BLACKSBURG, Va. - (August 3, 2005) - Webmail.us, the leading provider of email hosting services to small and geographically dispersed businesses, today announced the addition of three outsiders to the company's board of directors. Patrick Condon, Marty Muscatello, and David Sobotta will join Webmail.us co-founders Pat Matthews and Bill Boebel on the board of directors.
Mr. Condon is the co-founder of Rackspace Managed Hosting, one of the fastest growing managed hosting companies in the world. Throughout his tenure at Rackspace, Condon has held numerous leadership positions in marketing, customer care and business development and has helped champion Rackspace's unique flavor of customer service, Fanatical Support™. Rackspace was founded in 1998 and today has more than 600 employees and 8,000 customers worldwide. The privately held company has five datacenters in the US and the UK. Rackspace has raised over $30 million from several venture funds including Sequoia, Norwest, and RedHat.
Mr. Muscatello is currently the president and chief executive officer of CCS-Inc. in Christiansburg, Virginia. Muscatello has more than 27 years of management experience in manufacturing, sales and operations. Prior to joining CCS, he was general manager of Rohm and Haas' optoelectronics divisions. Muscatello also served as chief operating officer for Haleos, Inc., a company that designed and built optoelectronics components and assemblies. He was instrumental in selling the company to Rohm and Haas, a Philadelphia-based, multi-billion dollar company.
Mr. Sobotta is vice president of Federal Market Development for G3 Systems in Blacksburg, Virginia, as well as an evangelist for the National Lambda Rail and the Mid-Atlantic Terascale Project (MATP). Prior to G3 Systems, Sobotta spent more than 20 years at Apple and the most recent four as Apple's director of federal sales.
"As a young company, it's critical that we surround ourselves with proven leaders," said Pat Matthews, chief executive officer at Webmail.us. "We now have a wealth of diverse experience and expertise with David, who has a vast amount of experience building and managing highly successful sales teams; Marty, who has more than 25 years of management and executive-level experience; and Pat, an entrepreneur that has helped develop Rackspace into one of the fastest growing managed hosting companies in the world."
